The Leadership Tomorrow Business & Communication Workshop on January 19th was an informative day full of engaging, and inspirational speakers sharing their expertise regarding Business and Communication in Orange County. The Class of 2017 began with a Continental breakfast at 7:45 a.m. at the “Man Cave” at 3184 D Airway Avenue, Costa Mesa where they received a Spotlight on the Economy, “Where Are We and Where Are We Headed” from Morgan Christen, Chief Investment Officer, Spinnaker Investment Group.
Next, the class enjoyed hearing from Wing Lam, Co-Founder of Wahoo’s Fish Taco and one of the most successful entrepreneurs in the nation. Mr. Lam has been an honored guest of Leadership Tomorrow many times over the years and his engaging discussions about how business and philanthropy go hand in hand are always a highlight of the day.
Following Mr. Lam, the class heard from Chairman and CEO of Commerce West Bank, Ivo A. Tjan. Born in a third-world country with humble beginnings, Mr. Tjan has made it his life’s mission to help others professionally and through philanthropy. He shared with the class his commitment to making a difference in the lives of his clients, helping businesses achieve their goals, and supporting his community.
The next stop was lunch at the Newport Beach Marriott Hotel in Fashion Island hosted by the hotel’s General Manager, Debbie Snavely. While at the Newport Beach Marriott, the class was educated by speaker, Linda DiMario, Vice President of Economic Development and Tourism, Destination Irvine. Ms. DiMario spoke about the importance of Economic Development at every level and sector of our community.
The day was capped off by a lively presentation and exercise where the class experienced how to “Level Up” their Leadership from Dr. Deena Brown, DB Coaching and Consulting.
