Really good information about the structure of the city government, and as a city employee, a better understanding of how things work and seeing what role city managers and mayors play and the challenges they face. Learning how the city government functions as a whole, who's elected, who's not and the role city managers play. I never knew these things. I believe with this information I can help educate others when discussing local politics and just how each one of us can get involved, share our voices and run for a position.
This workshop provides access to our local leaders to learn from them first-hand about the challenges and rewards from public service in leadership roles. A panel of current city council members from our local cities is featured.
Potential class members for the upcoming year and interested parties are also invited to this workshop to catch a glimpse of the Leadership Tomorrow program. Featuring a luncheon panel of local government officials, potential class members can meet current class members and find out if the Leadership Tomorrow program is right for them.
