Really good information about the structure of the city government, and as a city employee, a better understanding of how things work and seeing what role city managers and mayors play and the challenges they face. Learning how the city government functions as a whole, who's elected, who's not and the role city managers play. I never knew these things. I believe with this information I can help educate others when discussing local politics and just how each one of us can get involved, share our voices and run for a position.
It was very interesting to hear the perspectives of each doctor on the panel from their distinct specialties to general challenges in the healthcare world and dealing with the pandemic.
This was the most exclusive day. I loved it. How else could I ever get tours like this?! Once in a lifetime experience, probably. Really hope I never end up in jail. Not planning on it. I was interested in everything today. Also, today’s bagels were superior.
Being able to hear directly from those involved in the local arts scene was wonderful. Havingthoughtful discussions around the processes that bring the performing arts to Orange Countyand promote diverse perspectives, new ideas, and historical education helped me understandthe impact and importance of the arts in our community.
Well-paced, a wonderful mix of business perspectives. I was grateful for the people-first theme that ran through the entire day, whether planned or organic; it made for meaningful interaction and learning. Absolutely knocked it out of the park with this day.
"The final panel with School Board Members was incredibly impactful and truly educated me to what their role is within the structure. It was nice to learn how passionate they are about our youth and education. I also appreciated the opportunity to interact with the next generation through the lens of the magnate school. It was authentic engagement with students that are growing into their futures and ours!"
The speakers today were knowledgeable about their industry and were intentional about sharing personal stories and making connections for the class. Housing and transportation planning in Orange County requires a careful balance of community-based input, regulatory standards, and strong public-private partnerships. And meeting our housing needs means making balanced, forward-looking decisions that honor our community’s character while ensuring every resident has the opportunity to thrive. This also includes strategic planning and dedicated resources to support individuals and families experiencing homelessness, along with strengthening the vital work of organizations such as Families Forward and the Orange County Rescue Mission.
A deeper appreciation and understanding of the importance of water, the need for conservation, and being more mindful of usage. Also, very interesting to learn about all the new technologies and advances in in the works to improve our water supply! Thanks for organizing a cool and informative workshop!
