The Leadership Tomorrow, Class of 2020, officially kicked off on Thursday, Sept. 19th at the Newport Coast Community Center. The morning was filled with icebreakers, class objectives and a lesson in Orange County history presented by OC Historian and author, Stan Oftelie. Mr. Oftelie regaled the class with stories of Orange County’s colorful past and the famous individuals who starred in OC’s legacy. Class members were each gifted a copy of Stan’s book Nothing Rhymes with Orange. Special thank you to Tesoro Publishing for their generous donation to the Leadership Tomorrow Class of 2020. It should be noted that Tesoro Publishing partners each year with giftsofhistory.org in providing the 37,000 Orange County third graders Mr. Oftelie’s book as part of their OCDE* Social Studies curriculum.
After a delicious catered lunch from The Bungalow, the 24 class members took part in an afternoon of team building activities led by TJN Consulting and fellow LT Board Members (trust walk anyone?).
A special shout out to the staff at Newport Coast Community Center and the City of Newport Beach for sponsoring our location for the day and to Av/Pac Insurance Services for sponsoring the lunch. Thank you!
Next up: Water Day on October 17, 2019!
